Q: Where is the teak made?
A: Indonesia.
Q: Is it Plantation Teak?
Yes! We only sell Government controlled Plantation Teak.
Q: Is it Tectona Grandis Teak?
A: Tectona Grandis is simply the latin word for 'common teak'. Of course Butterflty Teak is Tectona Grandis! However, we can also highlight that our teak is beautiful high Quality Plantation Teak which is kiln dried. It is not oiled or stained - it is beautiful raw teak which ages gracefully.
Q: What is the warranty?
A: If cared for correctly - tables are covered for 5 years. Relaxers are covered for 2 years. All chairs are covered minimum 1 to 2 years depending on style.
Q: Should I oil the teak?
A: Oiling A Grade Teak will not prolong the life of your teak furniture. We ensure during the manufacturing process that the teak used is high quality, cut from the trunk of the tree then kiln dried which ensures the teak will stand the test of time. Oiling will maintain the natural honey colour of the teak but must be reapplied as it fades.
Q: What will happen if I dont oil the teak?
A: If left alone, teak slowly ages to a beautiful silver grey colour. Please note: During the aging process we do not recommend covering the table. The table should be exposed to all climates so that it can age naturally.
